I stayed 4 nights in this hotel , we ate in the rooftop restaurant which unfortunately was not a good dining experience , my friend asked for well done salmon & was served an underdone salmon , the server took it away & it was returned but still inedible , the bread in the basket was so hard it would have broken your teeth , I can’t believe the chef would allow stale rock hard bread to be served Our 2nd bad experience was when tried the breakfast at 14 euros I expected a good breakfast, it was awful the food was cold; the coffee was poor quality & once again the bread was hard , the coffee machine broke & no cold milk was available very poor One evening at the Rooftop bar we asked for a brandy & no one understood our request but then a server bought a bottle of Sobrano ( costs 9 euros for a bottle as it is the cheapest brandy in Spain ) then charged us 9 euros for 2 brandy’s just unbelievable, the hotel seems more interested in getting people up to the rooftop bar then looking after its own guests with a particularly unfriendly woman who seemed to be the manager, I felt most of the bar staff didn’t understand my English accent even though I tried to communicate in my limited Spanish but on more than one occasion they didn’t understand me, I couldn’t use the bar code & asked for a drinks menu , they were not happy to give me a menu , I’m sorry but drinks menus should still be available for people who are not tech savvy !

Great hotel in an excellent location

This is a great hotel. The rooms are comfortable, clean and warm (we stayed in January). The staff are friendly. There is a roof top bar with an excellent view. We could see the Palace and the Tower of Plaza Major from it. There is a really interesting hanging garden and waterfall in the courtyard which got into the Gunness Book of Records for being the world's tallest vertical garden. The location is excellent. It is next to the Gran Via, on the other side of which is an area of bars and restaurants. It is 15-20 mins walk to the Palace. The hop on hop off bus tour goes from a stop on the Gran Via 1 minute away. We used that to get to the Bernabéu so we didn't need to use the metro, buses or taxis at all during our visit. We would definitely stay there again.

The hotel has a great location, two blocks from the Gran Vía. The room was a total disappointment. First of all, it had view to nowhere because the only windows was blocked by an elevator or the emergency exit. Then, the rug was very old, the toilet lid was loose that made uncomfortable to use the toilet; the light table next to my side of the bed made a lot of noise when you put any objects. The safe had a very difficult system to use it and I couldn’t find any clear instructions to set it up. If you want to call to reception desk from your room, you don’t have a direct number such 0 or 9. The pictures on the hotel’s web don’t match with the reality, at least in my experience.

The only thing four star about this hotel is the rooftop view and the location. Rooftop is much smaller than expected. Pool and rooftop are on different levels.rooms is standard. Walls are paper thin. Walls & carpets dirty and was very shocked how dated the hotel actually was because it has so much potential. Pool is also only opened between certain times and seemed to always be an issue no lifeguard one day waiting for over an hour & closed for whatever reason the day after too. Pool is technically "indoor" and we were not allowed use the pool on our last day which I think is a bit strange. Not allowed use room towels at the pool you've to rent a towel for 3 euro but you can keep it for the duration of your trip.Pool area is closed at about 7 to turn into a restaurant which is kind of cool. Plus drinking here is so expensive 13/14 euro for a cocktail. Beautiful views of sunset, could have better ambience with music but overall it does the job I suppose.

I spent my family vacation in this hotel, overall we had a good time. The location was great, very close to the center and also convenient for going to the airport. The only downside was the experience in the pool with the very rude barman (29/07/2023 around 3pm) we just wanted to relax by the pool and have our welcome drink. We simply asked to change the sangria for something non-alcoholic (juice), at first we were denied then later he said he could ONLY give us water. He was starting to raise his voice and was complaining about our request. He treated us so rude! We asked the lifeguard for the barman's name but he said he didn't know as he had only been working there for 3 days. It didn't seem like a suitable service for a 4-star hotel. Marah M.
